- I really enjoyed this week because I went to a lot of different colleges and learned all about them
- There were a lot of differences in the schools from size to location and learning style. The largest school was UC Santa Barbara with over 24,000 students and the smallest was UC Merced with 8000. The location also varied a lot between colleges. Chapman was closer to the city and more urban whereas UC Merced was in the middle of nowhere. Cal Poly SLO’s motto was learn by doing and they actually started their major related classes as freshmen. UC Merced, on the other hand, didn’t start major related classes until the third year, giving students a choice to switch majors.
- I realize now there are a lot of factors I want in a college. I care about location, and I don’t like being in the middle of nowhere. I like to be close to other places and more urban, not in a rural area. I would like to be somewhat far away from home, but not too far
- The thing I am looking forward to most about college is working hard in all my classes, studying, and passing tests. I want to have good grades because that is the most important thing in college
- The thing I am most concerned about college is how challenging the classes will be, especially coming from a non traditional school. Since we don’t take that many tests, and teach differently from other schools, going to college and a traditional learning style may be challenging.
- I am very interested in study abroad. I would love to go to a different country and immerse myself in a new culture. I think it would be a good experience and I could learn a lot from it
- I did not hear about any clubs I would be interested in joining.
- I want to attend a 4 year university
- I do not care whether I go in state or out of state but I know I want to stay in the country. Going out of the country would be too far for me, because I want to stay relatively close to home.
